WILD PEPINO TZIMBALO
(SOLANUM CARIPENSE)
A rare perennial shrub from the Andes valued for its 2cm sized fruits which, when ripe, taste like a tangy melon.
The fruits are ripe when they turn yellow and the stripes purple.
Better suited to warmer climates.
Suitable for fresh eating or added to salads or as a delightful accompaniment to cheeses.
