AMARANTH – GOLDEN

(AMARANTHUS TRICOLOR)

Vibrant green leaves with large trailing golden flower-heads. Although generally grown for it’s seeds which can be cooked whole, ground or puffed and eaten as cereal, the leaves are also edible and can be enjoyed raw or cooked as you would cook spinach.

. Direct sow preferable- 5mm deep spacing 15cm apart.

Requires early weed maintenance to grow well as it can be slow to start and be out-competed
