A cool climate variety from the1800’S, named after the 4th son of an Italian family.

Prolific red pepper that grows to 20cm.

This is a sweet rather than a spice pepper known as a frying Peter as it’s thin skin makes it ideal for the pan. Also delicious raw, and powdered it has a profound and smoky flavour. Put into the ark of taste by the slow food movement.

SOIL PREFERENCES

PH 5 – 6

Rich, well-drained friable soil.

Avoid high nitrogen fertilisers.

GROWING TIPS

Sow 6mm deep – 45cm apart and keep moist.

Avoid high nitrogen fertilisers or leaf growth will be promoted over fruit.

Prefers warmer temps.
