Â
Hailing from Peru, the “rocoto” chilli is the cold hardiest of all chilli varieties. The yellow rocoto is a pear-shaped chilli, smaller than it’s red sibling, though still relatively sizeable and containing black seeds.
Best prepared and enjoyed fresh as the thickness of the pod walls present a challenge to drying this chili.
The heat of this chilli varies between ranges of 30,000 – 250,000 Scoville Heat Units.
