A Thai heirloom: these long pale green eggplants are prolific producers of tender fleshed fruit.

Fast becoming a favourite of chefs.

Prefers a warm climate.

Cool Climate: Early Spring indoors, plant out after risk of frost (OCT – DEC)

Temperate: SEP – FEB

Sub – Tropical: AUG – MAR

Tropical: ALL YEAR

Arid: AUG – JAN

 

SOIL PREFERENCES

PH 5.5 – 6.5

Rich, well-drained, friable soil.

GROWING TIPS

Sow in pots, 6mm deep.

10-14 days to germination, transplant 60cm apart and keep moist to avoid bitterness.

Pick before the seeds turn brown and while the skin is shiny and firm.

If growing for seed leave on the Bush as long as possible.
