Naturally resistant to pests and diseases.
Grows up to 1.2-1.5m high.
Fine peach fuzz on skin and woolly foliage.
Blue / black on the shoulders with yellow base.
Yellow / orange flesh.
Sweet and tangy.
Copes well with heat and humidity.
WHEN TO PLANT
Cool Climate: AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV, (INSIDE) Plant out after risk of frost when soil temperature reaches 16ºC+.
Temperate: SEP-DEC Transplant or direct sow outside only when soil temperatures reach 16ºC+.
Sub – Tropical: (FROST FREE ZONES) MAR, APR, MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP,
(Can be grown year-round but risk of disease increases when sown in hotter months.)
Tropical: Late April to the beginning of July.
Well-drained rich soil.
Raise in seedling tray, sow 6mm deep and keep moist.
Remove bottom leaves when planting and plant deeply to promote strong growth.
Plant 45cm apart.
Pinch out laterals leaving 1-2 leaders.
Grow on a support.
