An American heirloom and the first tomato exhibiting true purple colour before the cultivation of blue and black varieties which gained momentum in 2012.

Orange/pink fleshed tomato with dark purple shoulders due to anthocyanin content.
Colours deepen as fruit ripens. Meaty flesh with minimal seeds. sweet flavour with low acid. Thick skinned. Keeps well. Disease resistant.

WHEN TO PLANT
Cool Climate: AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV, (INSIDE) Plant out after risk of frost when soil temperature reaches 16ºC+.
Temperate: SEP-DEC Transplant or direct sow outside only when soil temperatures reach 16ºC+.
Sub – Tropical: (FROST FREE ZONES) MAR, APR, MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP,
(Can be grown year-round but risk of disease increases when sown in hotter months.)
Tropical: Late April to the beginning of July.

SOIL PREFERENCES
PH 5.8-7
Well-drained rich soil.

GROWING TIPS
Raise in seedling tray, sow 6mm deep and keep moist.
Remove bottom leaves when planting and plant deeply to promote strong growth.
Plant 45cm apart.
