Released in 1990 and bred by Dr. Randolph G. Gardner at the North Carolina State Mountain Horticultural Crops Research Station. It produces high yields of medium to large smooth skinned golden fruits with a sweet flavour. Flattened globe fruits are crack and disease resistant making it a tougher yellow variety than most.
Highly nutritious with a 3.6/4.88 Tetra-cis-lycopene rating on the NZ heritage food crops research project.

WHEN TO PLANT
Cool Climate: AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV, (INSIDE) Plant out after risk of frost when soil temperature reaches 16ºC+.
Temperate: SEP-DEC Transplant or direct sow outside only when soil temperatures reach 16ºC+.
Sub – Tropical: (FROST FREE ZONES) MAR, APR, MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP,
(Can be grown year-round but risk of disease increases when sown in hotter months.)
Tropical: Late April to the beginning of July.

SOIL PREFERENCES
PH 5.8-7
Well-drained rich soil.

GROWING TIPS
Raise in seedling tray, sow 6mm deep and keep moist.
Remove bottom leaves when planting and plant deeply to promote strong growth.
Plant 1 metre apart.
