Grown exclusively for Seed Freaks by Joshua Strong; this is one of the most gargantuan gourds you can grow.

Fruits grow to around 45kg on average but have been known to grow to over 130kg. What makes this big beauty special is that unlike many “exhibition pumpkins” Big Max is also delicious. Flesh is sweet and meaty and particularly suited to pumpkin pie.

Who says you can’t have your jack-o-lantern and eat it too?

Rich well-drained soil.

GROWING TIPS

Plant seed 2.5cm deep,

transplant or thin to 120-200cm apart.

Protect seeds from birds/rodents with an upturned pot.
