Also known as walking stick kale, this rare & unusual

plant originated from the Channel Islands and grows up to 5 metres tall.

The leaves are snipped off and eaten, as per cabbage or kale.

Annual in cooler areas of Australia they can grow up to 3 years in warmer areas.

SOIL PREFERENCES

PH 6.5-7.5

Rich, well-drained soil.

 

GROWING TIPS

Sow in trays 5mm.  2 seeds per cell.

 Thin to 1 plant per cell.

Transplant 5–6-week-old seedlings in a fertile garden bed, 30cm apart,

allowing 60-70cm between rows.

Spray with dipel to reduce caterpillar damage.
