(GLYCINE MAX)

A delicious Japanese snack when the pods are steamed or boiled in salted water for 5-10 minutes, then running them under cold water. Squeeze the seeds from the pods.  Can also be used to make tofu, miso, soy flour and soymilk.

They require a warm climate and a long season and are unlikely to do well grown south of Sydney, though there are reports of them growing in Melbourne. They make great green manure.
